For a thousands of PCs we have in our environment, if we opt to enroll let say 100 units to Windows 7 ESU, how does the Win7 ESU apply to these machine? Thank you.

@laneteal When you purchase 100 ESU, you can activate 100 devices. The patches themselves will only install on devices with ESU installed and activated; the additional 900 devices will not be able to install the patches - even manually. You can use the article here for our activation methods:

This was addressed in another question but what you get is a "MAK" key to apply to the devices you need to cover (Note: doesn't matter how they were originally activated via MAK or KMS)

@capooleman This is correct. MAK is an add-on activation so the OS can be activated by KMS or MAK, and the activation of MAK will not interfere or modify the underlying OS activation.
