Microsoft has said that current channel targeted was dropped to keep pace with Office 365, if I recall right. Can someone please explain that? Why did targeted only apply to Windows Update for Business users? What's Microsoft's guidance for Windows Update for Business users now that targeted is gone?

Hi Kurt,

 

Windows and office share a common service framework recommendation, using a ring based validation rollout process. That framework has a "Targeted Validation Phase", both for Office and Windows, and we still do. For Windows, we don't have separate releases or release channels for the different phases.
