We have a customer who is using Teams on BYOD laptops. We want to enable a conditional access policy to block use of the Outlook desktop client however this also blocks the Teams client. In Microsoft BYOD blueprint (https://news.microsoft.com/wp-content/uploads/prod/sites/133/2021/03/MEA-Blueprint-for-BYOD-Use-v1.0...) it is recommended to use the Teams web client. Is there a way to block the teams web client from prompting the user to install the desktop client?

There was a uservoice but not sure if this got moved somewhere when uservoice was shutdown? https://gorovian.000webhostapp.com/?exam=t5/microsoft-teams/skip-hide-prompt-to-download-app/m-p/328350

Afaik no, and it's annoying at the very least.
