skypeFailed to execute Skype backend request CreateThreadRequest: Can't create new Teams Channel via

New Contributor

I've created many Teams channels with Graph without any problems. Now after a few weeks of successful use, my application stopped working at this feature.

I called the API with Graph Explorer and it comes up with the same error:

The above request results in the following error:

{
    "error": {
        "code": "GeneralException",
        "message": "Channel thread creation failed for team thread id 19:e3576db59691424185b7fe2b4f3abda3@thread.skypeFailed to execute Skype backend request CreateThreadRequest.",
        "innerError": {
            "request-id": "6187fc9a-75c4-44e4-b1ba-6998646bb302",
            "date": "2018-06-13T04:43:57"
        }
    }
}

I am member and owner of the team/group. I tried it for many other teams. It works for fresh created teams and after some time it stops working.

Has anyone an idea, why this happens? Currently I can't understand the problem.

Thanks in advance,

Steven

Seems to work fine here:

Success - Status Code 201, 1015ms

{
    "@odata.context": "https://graph.microsoft.com/beta/$metadata#groups('1fc47b5e-b6ca-44b4-ae1b-318fe0846d7a')/team/channels/$entity",

    "displayName": "TestGraph",
    "description": "channel created via the Graph API"
}

Perhaps it was a temporary issue?

having the sames issue here

{

}
}
}

Now the initial request works but requests fail for another group/team. Until now I cannot see the pattern behind that behaviour. Here is the current failig request:
POST: https://graph.microsoft.com/beta/groups/4d0d23d7-7ed3-4bc0-a411-040d7624bba9/team/channels

Request:

{
"displayName": "Test112",
"description": "Test1142"
}

Response

{
"error": {
"code": "GeneralException",
"message": "Channel thread creation failed for team thread id 19:7f795d63412840318ead600f45dd4dac@thread.skypeFailed to execute Skype backend request CreateThreadRequest.",

}
}
}

Any ideas?

Hello there @Steven Grzbielok

Did you figure out this issue. I am suddenly getting the same error. List of Channels were working fine until yesterday. Now I get Access Denied Failed to execute  Skype backend request GetThreadS@SRequest
