Join a Team : Search box missing

Occasional Contributor

When I want to join an existing team (link Join or create a team), in past I was able to search existing public Teams trough the search box on top right f the windows. (see pix)

How I can enable this search box ?

This happen for all users in the Tenant.

I also noticed that the /join function in the main search box, also not working anymore.

Somebody have an idea ?

Hi Yann,

This may be the issue.

Is this turned on in your Teams and Skype users admin centre? It states in the article that Users will not be able to search or discover teams when scoped search is in effect.

Hi Christopher, Thanks for you quick reply. Unfortunately I also see this option, I already try to disable it, wait a day and the enable it again ... without success. Yann
Hi Yann,

It should be disabled to work. I would recommend disabling it and leaving it for some time, close out and reopen the desktop application and see if it works. Also, after you have disabled it does it work in the web app as opposed to the Desktop app? If not, let us know and we'll explore other options. Other community members may also have ideas - they have a massive amount of experience and may have come across it in their work.

Is Office graph turned on in SharePoint ?

Sign in to Office 365 as a global admin or SharePoint admin.

Select the app launcher icon The app launcher icon in Office 365 in the upper-left and choose Admin to open the Microsoft 365 admin center. (If you don't see the Admin tile, you don't have Office 365 administrator permissions in your organization.)

In the left pane, choose Admin centers > SharePoint.
Choose Settings.
Under Office Graph, select one of the following:
Allow access to the Office Graph
@Adam : Thanks for your help, but yes Office graph is already turned on. @Chris : I will try to disable it until tomorrow and see if there any change with time. Thanks guys, I keep you in touch.
Hi guys,

Finally Chris was right :)

You have to disable the search option for Exchange ... but especially wait a few hours to see reappear search.

..And I also confirm that Microsoft Graph must also be enabled (which was already my case).

Thank you all
Great news!
