Regarding Activity notifications...

Question 1

I am following all channels in my Team

I have notifications set to Banner and Email for all items (mentions, messages)

  • I do NOT get an notification in my activity button when a new post is made in a channel

Question 2

I have my status set to Do Not Disturb and am not getting ANY notifications, although I want to be notified when my team (employees) request my assistance.

  • Is it because I need to add those members to the "Manage Priority Access" list?

Q1. Are you in DND for this? You won’t get any notifications if so. If not. Following isn’t really around anymore so you need to right click your channels and check the notifications there and make sure they are enabled for new posts and if you want replies regardless of you choose to get alerts on new threads or ones you replied too.

Q2. Yes you must setup priority for any messages to come through on banner. You will still get activity feed entries while in DND however to follow up or see if you pay attention and also toast notifications on taskbar but banners are suppressed unless in the priority list.

Here are more details:

We are a GCC client. We do not have notification options on a channel. The only options on the channel are: 

  • Hide channel
  • Manage channel
  • Get link to channel
  • Edit this channel
  • Connectors
  • Delete this channel
  • Follow/Unfollow this channel

Q1. This has nothing to do with DND. Users have their notification set to Banner or Banner/Email for all notification options from settings. They do not get an alert feed, they did not get a banner/email. They only know that something happened because the channel is highlighted in black.

Q2. The user had DND turned on and had all of their leadership team entered in priority. They did not get an alert feed, they did not get a banner/email notification.

My bad didn’t know you were GCC. Didn’t know they didn’t have those features yet either. Sounds like you are having an issue with the service if multiple people having the same issues. I would create a support ticket on this issue since having a channel followed and those settings should be sufficient to get banners / feed.
