New certification for Microsoft Teams Support Engineers

Published Jul 09 2021 09:10 AM 8,797 Views

We are looking for engineers who support Microsoft Teams environments, troubleshoot deployments, tune performance, collect and analyze telemetry and log data, and manage Microsoft Teams environments to participate in our new beta exam for a new portfolio of certifications that we will be launching for Customer Support Engineers.

If this is your skill set, we have a new certification for you. The Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Support Engineer Associate certification validates your expertise in this area and offers you the opportunity to prove your skills. To earn this certification, pass Exam MS-740: Troubleshooting Microsoft Teams, currently in beta.

Is this the right certification for you?

This certification could be a great fit if you have significant experience with unified communications and hands-on experience with Microsoft Teams. In addition, you should have networking knowledge of Azure fundamentals, telephony, PowerShell, data storage technologies, APIs, app security, authentication and authorization, security, and compliance information, debugging, performance tuning, and monitoring.

Ready to prove your skills?

Take advantage of the discounted beta exam offer. The first 300 people who take Exam MS-740 (beta) on or before August 5, 2021, can get 80 percent off market price!

To receive the discount, when you register for the exam and are prompted for payment, use code SummerMS740. This is not a private access code. The seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. As noted, you must take the exam on or before August 5, 2021. Please note that this beta exam is not available in Turkey, Pakistan, India, or China.

@mirfan_ you have to go through the scheduling process and when you are about to pay you have to use whatever code they post on this page, in this case the code was SummerMS740, but only the first 300 will get the discount.

I registered one day before and had to pay in full.

I only noticed the voucher when I did the exam today.

The current exam is a catasrophe. Case studies and some very long error logs or scenarios in only 90 minutes.

I feel ripped off because the registration and exam overview screen at start said exam duration was 130 minutes. When the exam actually started it was 90 minutes!!! As non-English-native it took me a long time to read and understand the complex and very detailed questions so that i ended up having to answer the questions in a few seconds and still dind't reach the finish line and test time ran out with 7 questions from the 2nd case study left unread.

Several Questions and possible answers didn't even match. A scenario described companyA and companyB and the answers only contained solutions for User1 and User2 (without ever explaining who these users were).

I don't think you should not provide so many details @MarcSchloesser about the exam.

I also got surprise by the 130 minutes at the introduction page and then the counter started at 90 minutes ! It will not give you too much of a chance to think straight.

Yes, it was also not good for me even with 3 years of experience.

The fact that for beta you will not know exactly when your exam is rated and you will only get to know if the badge appears on your side (means that you passed). Maybe you should provide feedback to everyone that completed the beta exam  @Liberty Munson

I fear that I wasted my money :(

@MarcSchloesser: Please do not share details about the exam publicly. This could be a violation of your NDA.

As to your comment about exam time, when you register for an exam, the amount of time provided is seat time, not exam time. For beta exams, you have an extra 30 minutes which are allocated for the introduction, NDA, instructions, and comments and in this case, you should have had 100 minutes for the exam. I'm confirming with the vendor that the exam is correctly set up this way.

In general, beta exams tend to be longer, though, but the data we collect will ensure that we set up the exam time correctly for the live exam. And, the rescore will take what may have been a speeded exam into account.

When will be the release date of MS-740 and AZ-700?

Exam is on hold. Does this mean that it will be delayed even further?
