Beta codes are sold out.  Thanks for your interest in our beta program!

As Microsoft Azure technology evolves, so does the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification. In keeping with that evolution, we’re excited to announce new versions of the exams required for this certification: AZ-303: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies (beta) and AZ-304: Microsoft Azure Architect Design (beta).

Is this the right certification for you?

As a candidate for the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, you should have subject matter expertise designing and implementing solutions that run on Azure. Your responsibilities include advising stakeholders and translating business requirements into secure, scalable, and reliable cloud solutions.

You’re on the right certification path if you have advanced experience and knowledge of IT operations, including networking, virtualization, identity, security, business continuity, disaster recovery, data platform, budgeting, and governance. You should also have expert-level skills in Azure administration and experience with Azure development and DevOps processes.

Ready to prove your skills on Azure architecture?

Be sure to take advantage of the discounted beta exam offers. The first 300 people who register for and take one of these exams on or before August 10, 2020, can get 80% off market price! This applies to both exam AZ-303 (beta) exam and exam AZ-304 (beta), for a total of 600 discounted exams. Remember that you can take Microsoft Certification exams online.

To receive the discount, register now. When you’re prompted for payment, use the associated code. This is not a private access code. The seats are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that neither of the beta exams is available in Turkey, Pakistan, India, or China.

Already on the journey to Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification? Mix and match your exams

If you’re ready to take AZ-300 or AZ-301 now, go for it. These two exams remain in market until September 30, 2020, at the regular price. To compare them with the new versions (AZ-303 and AZ-304), check out the skills outline document on each exam page.

If you just started the preparation journey, consider refocusing your studying efforts on the new exams—AZ-303 and AZ-304.

If you already passed either AZ-300 or AZ-301, you could take the new version of the complementary exam. The following exam combinations are valid for earning Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification: AZ-300 and AZ-301; AZ-300 and AZ-304; AZ-301 and AZ-303; or AZ-303 and AZ-304. (To see which exams you passed, check your transcript.)

Regardless of which of these exam combinations you take, when you pass, you’ll have earned your Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification and it will be valid for two years.

If you already hold the Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification, please note that we’re extending—by six months—all certifications that expire through December 31, 2020. If you want to prove that your skills are up to date right now, you can use EITHER discounted (passed, of course!) exam as an opportunity to extend your certification’s expiration by two years.

Do you have any idea by when AZ-303 and 304 will be live, any tentative date?

@joyjitnaha if you read the thread this is answered.  Beta exams were launched on June 30. It takes ~12 weeks for the process to be complete. October is the best guess for when these exams will be live.

Hi Liberty,

Can you let us know when and is MSFT is planning to change the study material on their website related to AZ-303 (Exam AZ-303: Microsoft Azure Architect Technologies (beta) - Learn | Microsoft Docs

I when was try to study for AZ-300 found the material very useful.  Also could you guide if there is a Mock exam papers we can use for our practice.

Any help from the guys who have already sat for AZ-303 and AZ-304 will be really helpful.

Also the duration of the Beta, we know based on your comments it's 12 weeks, the message we got from MSFT is that end of Sep it will finish. Do you see any changes to that.

Thanks, AK

Hello @Liberty Munson, I have completed my AZ 303 Beta version on 07 Aug. I was wondering when would I be able to see any scores from this test? (Assuming the date that AZ 303 goes live is 30 Sep, would it mean if I cleared, I'd get my scores mid Oct?). Thanks

Exams seem to be out of beta, so I expect result in 1-2 weeks?

Hi @Atul Kaila

You can use the official practice test here: https://www.measureup.com/official-practice-test-az-303-microsoft-azure-architect-technologies.html

They have a demo version that contains five questions.

Hi,

Thanks, I was looking for something that is more Test Like, not just with 5 questions for practice.

Would be great if someone would have come across the same or have used for their Exam Prep.

Thanks, AK

@Atul Kaila There's also Whizlabs. I've used them to prepare for 4 Azure exams this year. In my experience, once you get at least 80% success rate on Whizlabs, you're ready for the real exam. 15 questions free to try, or 175 questions for AZ-303, available for about 13£ with the voucher WHIZSITE50

Microsoft Azure Exam AZ-303 Certification | Whizlabs

As you've mentioned dumpsin your question, worth saying Whizlabs tests are not dumps, but practice tests just like MeasureUp. Their questions cover most of the study material, but don't expect them to be identical to the exam ones.

@Atul Kaila MeasureUp simulates the exam (you can run in certification more or study mode) and have over a hundred questions in their question pool. MeasureUp is the only official self-test partner of Microsoft.

Microsoft

Beta rescores take 10 business days to complete after the exam is live. As noted in the blog post, please follow my twitter feed to get updates @libertymunson.

Please keep in mind that using dump sites is a violation of your exam agreement (NDA). Please do not post such suggestions or ask for them on this forum (or anywhere else for that matter).

Practice Tests through MeasureUp will be available as soon as possible after the exam is live, but it generally takes 6-8 weeks. The PTs for these exams may be quicker because they are revisions of existing exams.

@Liberty Munson

I like to check AZ-301 is retired or retirement is extended till Jan-2021 ? I like to re-take AZ-301 now , pls suggest.

@Liberty Munson  Any update on the 'planets aligning' for the new renewal path for Azure Solutions Architecture Expert?  (My cert expires 23 July 2021).

My go-to method of passing certification exams for the last 18 years has been up to 100 hours of self study followed by classroom training and Transcender/MeasureUp practice tests.  With Covid-19, in-person training probably won't be possible within my renewal time-frame.  So, another method of renewing my certification would be very welcome.

Microsoft

@Richard Eke We will be announcing something in December. Please be patient and rest assured that once we announce, you will have sufficient time to complete.

Microsoft

@sanjaysonawane AZ300 and AZ301 retired on September 30 as we announced about 4 months ago. These retirement dates were not extended because there are replacement exams available. The MCSA/E/D certification exam retirements were extended to the end of January 2021 because there are not formal replacements for them because that program is sunsetting.

Hi All & @Liberty Munson ,

Does any one know the exam format for the new AZ-303 exam please? How many questions are in the exam and are there any simulations or Labs in the exam?

Thanks in advance

Microsoft

@Kenneth_Ods Microsoft uses a wide variety of item types on our exams and we can change them at any time. To learn more, visit: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/learn/certifications/certification-exams#prepare-for-your-exam

Similarly, the number of questions can change as we sustain our exams, so we don't publish exact numbers. Learn more here:

All,

I wanted to quickly update that I sat for the AZ-303 yesterday and passed. Thanks for sharing all your information. In my experience the test was better structured than previous predecessor AZ-300.

Planning to sit for Az-304 soon, any good notes or sites to study would be  great help. If anyone of you have already sat for AZ-304 what material you used and once you sat for AZ-303 how much different AZ-304 is.

@Liberty Munson - Can you please update when we the MSFT training docs will be updated with Az-304 content. I found them very useful

Thanks as Always.
