Keeping students engaged is job one for teachers, but that can be a challenge during distance learning when at-home distractions and wandering attention can get in the way. Using Microsoft Forms, educators have a tool to boost student engagement by adding a poll to a Microsoft Teams channel or chat. Polls allow teachers to collect responses before, during, or after a class session or meeting—with results automatically aggregated and displayed as a Word Cloud, or in a chat pane.

How to add a poll to your next Teams classroom

1. Before class:

A. Prepare your questions (multiple-choice or Word Cloud) using polls, an easy-to-find app in channel meeting.

Forms polls allows educators to provide enhanced lessons, assignments, and quizzes, then asks students to provide creative input during class. This off-the-shelf feature provides another tool for teachers to help keep students engaged, making learning an interactive experience.
