Good article but I am a little confused when you stated Microsoft
endpoint manager is the combination of SCCM and Intune, I currently have
my lab setup without any sign of SCCM and I can still use Microsoft
Endpoint Manager so not sure on this point

that we once had with M365 Apps licensing. M365 Apps solved that issue
by offering free device licenses to EES/Campus licensed organisations.
