And we are live recording very nice so welcome everybody to mid day cafe. I'm your host. Michael Gianotti an I'm a technology specialist here at Microsoft. I've got a great panel today so very excited and we have some very interesting topics that I hope you're going to enjoy. But let's go ahead 1st and go round the horn.

00:00:24.500 --> 00:00:31.590
Michael Gannotti
Introducing yourselves and one brief thing that you did that was fun this weekend. So Scott.

00:00:33.660 --> 00:00:39.590
Scott Moore
I'm Scott Mormon teams technical specialist. Anything fun I did this weekend. I went mountain biking Saturday.

00:00:40.200 --> 00:00:41.380
Scott Moore
So I lived through that.

00:00:41.990 --> 00:00:42.500
Scott Moore
I'm good.

00:00:42.020 --> 00:00:48.610
Michael Gannotti
You live at your alive today. No bandages that are apparent, so that's good. Alright, Tracy?

00:00:49.180 --> 00:01:00.810
Tracy DeWald
I am tracye tewolde technical specialist on the team side, something I did this weekend. Did some ring shopping for a wedding here. That's a couple months away, so moving along there. Happy time.

00:01:00.120 --> 00:01:01.900
Michael Gannotti
That's pretty big dude.

00:01:01.700 --> 00:01:02.220
Tracy DeWald
Yeah.

00:01:03.670 --> 00:01:04.670
Tracy DeWald
Thanks.

00:01:04.350 --> 00:01:04.830
Jim Warner
Nice.

00:01:05.710 --> 00:01:07.750
Michael Gannotti
Jim Oh no, shoot me Kendra.

00:01:08.790 --> 00:01:11.870
Kendra Burgess
Hi, I'm an intelligence technical specialist.

00:01:12.650 --> 00:01:20.260
Kendra Burgess
And the thing that I did that was fun. I did a lot of swimming. I think I jumped in a pool 3/4 times yesterday so lots of laps. Lots of fun.

00:01:19.950 --> 00:01:23.830
Michael Gannotti
Nice pools are always fun, especially this time of year.

00:01:20.950 --> 00:01:21.330
Kendra Burgess
Yeah.

00:01:24.060 --> 00:01:24.470
Kendra Burgess
Yeah.

00:01:24.850 --> 00:01:25.790
Michael Gannotti
And Jim.

00:01:26.660 --> 00:01:37.350
Jim Warner
Everyone, I'm Jim Warner. I'm a technical specialist. Let's see. I don't know if it was super fun, but yeah, I did a lot of yard work. We had a pleasant weekend here in Michigan and, uh, played low corn hole too so.

00:01:37.830 --> 00:01:51.570
Michael Gannotti
And corn dude, I I also, well, I was adjacent to corn hole. I didn't play it, I was at a wedding shower this weekend. So you're in I I gotta ask this. I forgot that you're in Michigan, where at in Michigan?

00:01:45.810 --> 00:01:46.850
Jim Warner
Oh nice.

00:01:52.130 --> 00:01:53.950
Jim Warner
I'm a little bit north of Detroit.

00:01:54.480 --> 00:01:55.600
Michael Gannotti
North of where?

00:01:56.180 --> 00:01:56.740
Jim Warner
Troy.

00:01:57.550 --> 00:02:01.140
Michael Gannotti
OK alright my wifes from Saginaw that's why I was asking.

00:02:01.070 --> 00:02:03.690
Jim Warner
Oh OK, right on yeah yeah, not too far.

00:02:02.920 --> 00:02:31.990
Michael Gannotti
So yes, my wife, whole side of the family is Michigan, so great so we have some very interesting topics today that we're going to be covering. I hope that you'll find them helpful. Will have links after the fact, just as a reminder, as we record today's session, we always pose this and you can find myself, my colleagues here out at AKA DOT Ms Slash HLS blog. That's AKA dot Ms slash HLS.

00:02:07.940 --> 00:02:08.400
Jim Warner
Gotcha.

00:02:32.040 --> 00:03:02.200
Michael Gannotti
Blog you can also find us, uh, on Spotify on iTunes and on Google Podcasts, so if you want to join us, take us on the go there. Feel free and share this with your colleagues and please let us know if there's topics that you would like to hear. You know that you'd like to see us do. We're all on LinkedIn as well and I'll have the links to our profiles with our names on the post. And certainly you can ask us there. You can ask us on the post itself.

00:03:03.020 --> 00:03:07.360
Michael Gannotti
And let us know how we can better serve you, but to kick off today.

00:03:08.290 --> 00:03:10.670
Michael Gannotti
We have a very important topic in fact.

00:03:11.710 --> 00:03:18.680
Michael Gannotti
One of my customers from this last fiscal year, Jim was freaking about this because they had not.

00:03:19.490 --> 00:03:26.990
Michael Gannotti
Even though they knew way back, they kind of went. Yeah, yeah yeah yeah. And then also oh so tell us what you're going to talk about.

00:03:21.940 --> 00:03:22.240
Jim Warner
OK.

00:03:23.390 --> 00:03:23.710
Jim Warner
Right?

00:03:24.780 --> 00:03:25.690
Jim Warner
Kick the can.

00:03:27.740 --> 00:03:44.360
Jim Warner
Yeah, so we can talk about the upcoming changes to the teams meeting recordings, so hopefully everyone's already taken a look at this. But yeah, there will be some people that have kind of kick the can down the road, but really what's happening is starting on August 16th.

00:03:45.110 --> 00:03:50.120
Jim Warner
All the teams meeting recordings will be saved in one drive for business and SharePoint by default.

00:03:50.750 --> 00:03:59.430
Jim Warner
So this means that you can no longer opt out like you've been doing. For you know potentially you've been doing for the last, you know 6-7 months since we've announced this.

00:04:00.030 --> 00:04:16.800
Jim Warner
So when this change rolls out, the teams meetings, recording storage mode policy will be ignored. So like I said, you won't be able to opt out after this, so you won't be possible after the 16th. Once this change rolls out to record any meetings in the stream.

00:04:19.020 --> 00:04:24.270
Jim Warner
We recommend that the customers roll this feature out before this date so they can control the timing of the release.

00:04:27.030 --> 00:04:47.830
Jim Warner
Oh really, let's see what else. OK, so as far as the existing recordings that are out there, there's some upcoming guidance for migrating that content to from stream Classic to one drive in SharePoint online. I'm not prepared to really release any of that information. There are some links that will be provided afterwards.

00:04:49.420 --> 00:05:03.340
Michael Gannotti
Cool so when when they do this though, there's a number of. I mean people get freak. Is there like change? Oh, but there's some positives, some big positives that are coming about as a result of this. Can you talk to that a bit?

00:04:56.900 --> 00:04:57.180
Jim Warner
Yep.

00:05:00.910 --> 00:05:01.620
Jim Warner
Absolutely.

00:05:03.620 --> 00:05:27.130
Jim Warner
Yeah, of course. So I, you know, one of the biggest things is really retention policies, right? So now you can target these recordings. These TMR right teams meeting recordings with retention labels so you can start getting rid of that content. That's really old or Daniel retaining content that's marked Propriate Lee for however long your organizational policies DM.

00:05:27.700 --> 00:05:35.500
Jim Warner
Uhm, you know you get some information governance. You get permissions and sharing right? So sharing wasn't really easy to do.

00:05:35.550 --> 00:05:45.740
Jim Warner
You, uh, you know you had a really do bunch of things. Download the the recordings and get him out somewhere where you could share that. Now it's going to be in a place where you can share them automatically.

00:05:43.910 --> 00:05:44.230
Scott Moore
You

00:05:47.290 --> 00:05:48.100
Jim Warner
Let's see.

00:05:49.060 --> 00:05:50.890
Jim Warner
You got increased quotas.

00:05:52.030 --> 00:06:09.060
Jim Warner
Uh, the recordings are available faster. Oh like Scott talked about last week. Multi Geo support right? Go local stuff so you will have the ability to have that content. You know those recordings in the specific Geo regions.

00:06:09.460 --> 00:06:14.010
Michael Gannotti
And that's a big deal with some of those, uh, entities right? Like Germany?

00:06:12.350 --> 00:06:12.500
Scott Moore
yeah.

00:06:12.550 --> 00:06:12.990
Scott Moore
Definitely.

00:06:14.860 --> 00:06:16.160
Jim Warner
Absolutely Yep.

00:06:16.100 --> 00:06:19.220
Scott Moore
Gemma, I have a question there, I guess it's more of a statement.

00:06:18.540 --> 00:06:18.740
Jim Warner
So.

00:06:21.130 --> 00:06:28.200
Scott Moore
This is part of the premise behind moving to to one drive. Is that really because of the sharing ease with with one drive?

00:06:28.820 --> 00:06:29.960
Scott Moore
Is that really behind that?

00:06:30.720 --> 00:06:56.160
Jim Warner
That's one of the big things, but it retention policy is we're really big thing for our customers. When you start looking at all the recordings they did and a lot of intellectual property which sit out there in these recordings and there was really no good way to either retain or clean up right to delete. So it was kind of a manual process. And really this brings that to fruition, right? Is moving up to another location.

00:06:43.030 --> 00:06:43.190
Scott Moore
Yeah.

00:06:54.740 --> 00:06:55.100
Scott Moore
Bye.

00:06:56.720 --> 00:07:04.480
Scott Moore
And I think a lot of people have a lot of familiarity with OneDrive, and you know, being able to share from there, it just makes sense that you can now do that with your meetings.

00:07:04.990 --> 00:07:12.560
Jim Warner
Right, right, yeah? And so ad hoc meetings will be stored in one drive and then channel meetings will get stored in SharePoint.

00:07:05.140 --> 00:07:05.560
Scott Moore
So.

00:07:13.450 --> 00:07:28.650
Michael Gannotti
Yeah, and that's I mean to me, that's one of the biggest things and I I'm thinking him. One former customer who I love. They're they're great folks, but they had kind of this one. Had gotten kicked down, you know. Like you said, kick the can down the road.

00:07:26.380 --> 00:07:26.600
Jim Warner
Right?

00:07:29.970 --> 00:07:33.620
Michael Gannotti
But their issue that they were having prior to that was.

00:07:35.020 --> 00:07:47.340
Michael Gannotti
They were at like 90 some odd percent saturation and it was all meetings that would have been for by and large in one drive. And if your E3 and above, then you essentially have.

00:07:48.220 --> 00:07:49.570
Michael Gannotti
Unlimited right?

00:07:49.210 --> 00:07:50.760
Jim Warner
Yeah, right, right?

00:07:50.880 --> 00:07:56.230
Michael Gannotti
So yeah, it's a big deal. Very cool. Anything else you want to add on that or?

00:07:57.330 --> 00:08:03.540
Jim Warner
No, like I said, I think you know provide a bunch of links that you know in the follow up.

00:08:00.920 --> 00:08:01.190
Michael Gannotti
Cool.

00:08:04.800 --> 00:08:14.020
Michael Gannotti
Yeah, I think I think this is a big one and again I think you know the the piece they did move this back originally I thought it was like June or.

00:08:14.090 --> 00:08:14.960
Jim Warner
Yeah, it's earlier.

00:08:15.400 --> 00:08:45.600
Michael Gannotti
So they you know they they have moved back, but I don't think they're moving anymore and so be ready. Check out the links Jim is going to provide. This is this is actually a positive as we've been moving infrastructure that was traditionally media services into the SharePoint slash OneDrive proper. It just gives a lot more flexibility and all around that security and compliance area that was sorely lacking previous. So great stuff.

00:08:22.430 --> 00:08:22.640
Jim Warner
Right?

00:08:47.030 --> 00:08:52.020
Michael Gannotti
Moving on from that, I understand that Mr. Ring seeker.

00:08:52.900 --> 00:08:56.340
Michael Gannotti
I don't know if he's the ringbearer yet you seeking the ring.

00:08:56.970 --> 00:09:00.880
Michael Gannotti
Uh so, Tracy you you had something around teams call center?

00:09:01.280 --> 00:09:24.590
Tracy DeWald
Yeah, I mean so, you know, just in my short time with Microsoft, I've learned a lot about call Center. So at a really high level just kind of what you would need to get that get those things going. Auto attendants call centers. You know I've dealt with a lot of other technologies where it's pretty straightforward and you know with Microsoft and the licensing and everything that goes into that. So how exactly do you get started?

00:09:25.030 --> 00:09:37.300
Tracy DeWald
In building those things so you have better flow through your organization and I put together just a quick one slide or that gives those high level items. So let me share my screen here.

00:09:33.100 --> 00:09:33.540
Michael Gannotti
Yeah.

00:09:37.820 --> 00:09:43.290
Michael Gannotti
And while you're pulling that up, are you going to share that slide for us to put on to the post?

00:09:37.950 --> 00:09:38.540
Tracy DeWald
Uh.

00:09:44.190 --> 00:09:47.700
Tracy DeWald
Sure, if you can post it, I can. I can send it to you, definitely.

00:09:47.370 --> 00:09:51.500
Michael Gannotti
Yeah, you can put it in the chat here later, cool.

00:09:48.630 --> 00:09:49.140
Tracy DeWald
Yeah.

00:09:51.050 --> 00:10:12.940
Tracy DeWald
Yeah, so really, I mean the one of the first things when you're you know when you're getting involved with the Microsoft phone system is is really in your routing calls in your call centers. How do you want those calls delivered right there? I mean, Microsoft has three options, direct route where you can leverage your existing phone system infrastructure, connect your Microsoft certified border controller, obviously.

00:10:13.430 --> 00:10:25.380
Tracy DeWald
Uh, tyrelle those calls in or now something new that we have is operator connect where you can keep your provider and then route those calls right in so you don't have that point of failure through through your infrastructure.

00:10:25.900 --> 00:10:52.810
Tracy DeWald
Uh, and then you know calling plan is something where you're leveraging the Microsoft environment so you can buy numbers or or you know what they call it, do a change. The responsibility rests board. You can move your numbers in Microsoft. One of the nice things that I've learned recently is this. You keep those numbers even if they move to Microsoft. You know any movement in tenant you can move them back out so, so that's a really nice thing where customers are worried about their numbers and you know there are ones that have been published everywhere.

00:10:54.350 --> 00:11:24.550
Tracy DeWald
So once you, once you have that down and and you know how you know how you want to deliver your calls into the phone system, really it comes down to you know what licenses do I need? And the nice thing is, is you don't really, you have to create resource accounts and assign that number to those, but what the resource account is is it allows you to connect that call queue or the auto attendant to that to that group. If you don't have, you know licensing.

00:11:24.670 --> 00:11:43.390
Tracy DeWald
You can request through your M365 admin center. You can request virtual licenses and those you know it looks like you're going through the purchase process, but they show up at a $0.00 amount for those virtual licenses you need, so that makes it really simple to get started building these resource accounts.

00:11:45.120 --> 00:11:51.070
Tracy DeWald
You know, once you have those built then you get into OK. Now who's going to be taking my calls and how does that look?

00:11:52.460 --> 00:11:53.220
Tracy DeWald
So.

00:11:54.080 --> 00:12:23.950
Tracy DeWald
What there's, there's a couple options so you know this is the phone system is compatible with teams, so you can assign your agents to a teams channel and route the calls to that you know en route calls into teams and take those calls that way. Another way is to just populate that call queue with users. There's a limit of 20 that I've seen on that, or you can add additional groups. You know security groups, things like that.

00:12:24.510 --> 00:12:37.670
Tracy DeWald
To those to have a higher level, you know you can put 200 agents in that way, so and you know once you once you figure out what your agent pool looks like, then you want to look at how those agents are going to receive those calls.

00:12:38.540 --> 00:13:01.060
Tracy DeWald
You know some companies will do it based on different skill sets and things like that, but in the on the slide here there's a few options with attendant routing, serial routing round Robin and longest idle. So typically what I've seen in most cases you're going with the most idle agent, so that fourth option. So whoever has been around.

00:13:02.210 --> 00:13:32.670
Tracy DeWald
Those can also be sent just to route the call into the agent pool, or you can do it based on presence. So if there a way they won't, you know the hunt won't hit them or or or relative call to them. So and then on the right side of slide there just some overall guidance on how to get started so you know just kind of that order how you want your calls to get there. Whether or not you can use that border controller you want to make sure it's certified and get that up to speed before you you even think about routing and routing the calls and make sure it's supported.

00:13:33.330 --> 00:14:04.160
Tracy DeWald
Make sure you have the licensing so you can create those and then deciding who your agents are. Then you can build. Nice thing is as you can either record your greetings or you can just upload your hold music. Depending on how you how you want, you know what you want your users to hear your customers as their as their waiting to be connected that agent. So in a nutshell I said very high level just getting started and what you need to do to get a call center going or intendant so. So just really quick and easy.

00:13:39.790 --> 00:13:40.290
Scott Moore
Yes.

00:14:04.730 --> 00:14:11.670
Scott Moore
Can I try to jump in there just a couple of things that I've I've done a lot of context integration with some of the native things.

00:14:04.840 --> 00:14:05.270
Michael Gannotti
So.

00:14:05.860 --> 00:14:06.480
Michael Gannotti
I'm go ahead.

00:14:12.190 --> 00:14:12.880
Scott Moore
Uh.

00:14:13.930 --> 00:14:19.180
Scott Moore
A lot of questions I've actually received before or around the resource accounts.

00:14:20.710 --> 00:14:21.880
Scott Moore
Or if I want to keep that out.

00:14:22.430 --> 00:14:22.890
Scott Moore
Uh.

00:14:22.790 --> 00:14:23.830
Tracy DeWald
So you want to keep that up.

00:14:24.130 --> 00:14:32.500
Scott Moore
Yeah, if you don't mind if we keep that up and talk about that so so some of the questions I've actually seen around the resource accounts a lot of a lot of folks tend to get confused.

00:14:25.920 --> 00:14:26.330
Tracy DeWald
Definitely.

00:14:34.120 --> 00:15:01.850
Scott Moore
The resource accounts are those. Are there really for where you have your pilot numbers? You know, just to recap, that's really around either. The auto attendant outnumber or you'd also have a pilot number for the call queue itself, just part of the call routing and then the resource accounts are actually allocated to it and it's tracye at mentioned. Those are a $0.00, but you do have to go through and provision those you know in the teams admin center.

00:15:02.520 --> 00:15:16.600
Scott Moore
And then another question I've seen is also around. You know participants that actually participate in well naturally in an auto attendant. You know that's going to be a user. That's fine, system enabled, but it also to be able to participate in a call queue.

00:15:17.180 --> 00:15:21.310
Scott Moore
Uh, you know, I've seen a lot of questions around. Why have users that may not be phone system enabled?

00:15:22.000 --> 00:15:29.090
Scott Moore
And it is a prerequisite for the user to participate in a call queue. They do have to be phone system enabled as well.

00:15:29.930 --> 00:15:30.350
Scott Moore
Uh.

00:15:31.770 --> 00:15:36.280
Scott Moore
And there's also a third party ecosystem around context center with third party integration, but we could.

00:15:36.910 --> 00:15:37.670
Scott Moore
Probably.

00:15:38.080 --> 00:15:43.940
Scott Moore
Uh, go through that in a separate discussion. I can probably do that in one of one of the later.

00:15:45.180 --> 00:15:48.960
Scott Moore
Meetings that we have mid days, but this is definitely a start, yeah?

00:15:49.310 --> 00:15:51.120
Tracy DeWald
Yeah yeah, thanks for that.

00:15:53.800 --> 00:16:24.670
Michael Gannotti
Awesome, so you're going to provide us then this slide and then some links and we'll go ahead. We'll make sure everybody has that, and I think it's something that you know that definitely when we think about a lot of our customers, at least in the healthcare space, they all are dealing with, you know, with call centers of some type of some size and magnitude, and so you know, the biggest thing is yes, Microsoft ready to help. Move them to that consolidated effort with with our own offerings around that.

00:16:25.620 --> 00:16:44.700
Tracy DeWald
Yeah, one of the nice things is you know some of those other solutions. You're you're paying huge amounts of money for these licenses, and just to just to be able to route the call there with here, it's kind of inherently built in, and that's the majority of call centers. They really don't need all that functionality, they just want to be able to tribute calls. So it's a great option.

00:16:33.200 --> 00:16:33.340
Michael Gannotti
Yeah.

00:16:44.190 --> 00:16:44.490
Michael Gannotti
Yeah.

00:16:45.540 --> 00:16:46.280
Michael Gannotti
Awesome.

00:16:46.920 --> 00:16:54.520
Michael Gannotti
Well, I have, uh, two quick things that I'm going to cover. I'm going to go ahead and share.

00:16:55.270 --> 00:16:59.190
Michael Gannotti
My screen I almost muted my mic was clicked the wrong.

00:16:59.810 --> 00:17:03.550
Michael Gannotti
Click the wrong little doohickey, all right, let's see.

00:17:04.970 --> 00:17:06.230
Michael Gannotti
And.

00:17:07.900 --> 00:17:10.330
Michael Gannotti
That should be showing up now.

00:17:11.230 --> 00:17:11.700
Michael Gannotti
Oops.

00:17:13.320 --> 00:17:30.940
Michael Gannotti
There we go alright. So the first thing I want to talk and this is really fast and I'll give you the link. There's really not a whole lot to say here, but if you've missed this, they did announce the general availability of self safe links. Self links.

00:17:31.950 --> 00:17:37.100
Michael Gannotti
Safe links from Microsoft Teams and the beauty of that is if you're, you know.

00:17:37.850 --> 00:17:57.470
Michael Gannotti
We've had things with email, you know, in web pages etc. Checking links, this actually lets you write within a conversation you can be in a chat session, a conversation in a team sharing a link link could be shared and will real time scan it if you've configured it.

00:17:58.430 --> 00:18:11.810
Michael Gannotti
And I'll hit that in just a second, but that means that the point of click will real time scan and then you'll get this popup right? So if it's been classified as malicious, I actually hit this.

00:18:13.940 --> 00:18:45.010
Michael Gannotti
Is that what it was last week? Uh, I saw this pop up and I forget what what the situation is, somebody shared something and it clicked an it said it's been classified as malicious. It might not be safe. They do provide an option here where continue anyway. Not recommended. That's part of the administrative control though. Whether you allow or not, but you can see here if you go down that to get started with this, I was surprised I was like oh, do we have to do?

00:18:45.170 --> 00:19:08.700
Michael Gannotti
Old new licensing and really it's not. It's a new feature that's been enabled. So if you have Microsoft Teams and you're using defender for Office 365, they have the configuration here and it's a configure a safe links policy in the defender portal as a part of your 365 instance. We've got links to it.

00:19:10.740 --> 00:19:33.170
Michael Gannotti
It's it's very easy to set up and you can go ahead quick, configure a policy and then take advantage of that. And that's just another area as we continue to move forward. You know, with teams becoming that single pane glass to get work done, people send links all the time and they may be sending a link they got from home or from somebody else, and you know.

00:19:32.670 --> 00:19:32.750
Kendra Burgess
Yeah.

00:19:35.420 --> 00:20:06.410
Michael Gannotti
You never know, I'll just say I had I, I, my my wife, side of the family. She has some relatives that are wonderful love'em they're a little older and they love to share links and then they wonder why computers are always. Why is it so slow? It will you click here and you did, yeah. And then you have to clean up my mother in laws frequently so some of these links now. Now we can you know, Wolf lagom if somebody goes ahead and inadvertently share something in teams.

00:20:06.560 --> 00:20:37.400
Michael Gannotti
You'll be able to have that again to safeguard your enterprise just another vector point taken out of the mix, so I'll post that here. The other that I wanted to quick share, I got hit up last week twice by customers about this, and so I'm going to pull up my little demo site here and here. You can see I'm running Viva Viva Las Vegas, running Viva here in Microsoft Teams it's Aviva connections.

00:20:11.850 --> 00:20:11.940
Scott Moore
Yeah.

00:20:37.580 --> 00:21:08.740
Michael Gannotti
And under it under find you'll see I've got some virtual facilities tours where you can actually click and then it's just going to pull up this what they call share point spaces within Microsoft Teams. And I got asked how do you get to spaces they were not seeing it sort of like that is just really cool. I don't know why it's saying I have an error. I don't and it's showing here. You can even see it in a headset and you can you know tool around and take a look at stuff.

00:21:09.860 --> 00:21:15.460
Michael Gannotti
How do you get this enabled and how does it show in teams? And it's really simple so.

00:21:16.110 --> 00:21:25.590
Michael Gannotti
If you have SharePoint, a site modern framework, any SharePoint site modern framework simply go up to the little gear here.

00:21:26.610 --> 00:21:29.050
Michael Gannotti
Click that click site information.

00:21:31.620 --> 00:21:34.600
Michael Gannotti
Then view all site settings.

00:21:36.190 --> 00:21:38.050
Michael Gannotti
So we're going to go on into here.

00:21:38.840 --> 00:21:44.150
Michael Gannotti
And here I believe it's site features, not site collection so.

00:21:44.820 --> 00:22:10.110
Michael Gannotti
We'll just double verify that in a second coming on down, and sure enough, there it is. So space is this is a feature that is inherently it's in there with SharePoint modern frame or but it's not turned on. You have to turn it on to get to it, so you simply come under here, just like these one say, activate you click activate, it will go ahead and make that active.

00:22:10.660 --> 00:22:12.130
Michael Gannotti
Once it's active.

00:22:12.720 --> 00:22:16.730
Michael Gannotti
Then on SharePoint itself, let me go back to the website.

00:22:17.800 --> 00:22:40.160
Michael Gannotti
To add a space at any point, you can do it a couple of ways. Number one you can come right over here at the very top on the home page. If you have the ability to create new pages under new, you will get this not just pages and posts, but a space you simply come in. Click say you want a space, I'll just call it demo.

00:22:41.750 --> 00:22:46.420
Michael Gannotti
Space you can give it a descripcion you then pick a structure.

00:22:47.050 --> 00:22:57.990
Michael Gannotti
That's going to kind of give the layout or the canvas for it, so we're kind of space Spacey looking. Some replying will pick in this one geodome.

00:22:58.790 --> 00:23:00.150
Michael Gannotti
Then you click create.

00:23:01.670 --> 00:23:06.540
Michael Gannotti
Once it create, it's going to build the initial environment this 3D space.

00:23:08.500 --> 00:23:39.830
Michael Gannotti
There we are. So now we've got that. It opens it in the edit view. Notice I can look around here and I can do a couple of things. One just quick click space design here I can go ahead and you notice it has the background so it's by an image. You can change the image you can say hey I want to pick an illustration. It'll give you a number of illustrations. You could pick one of those. You could pick a color or if you have your own file that you want to add.

00:23:39.880 --> 00:23:43.330
Michael Gannotti
If it's a 360 sphere, you can add that so.

00:23:43.880 --> 00:23:49.810
Michael Gannotti
You know, again, if you have a 360 device, just a thing like an Insta 360.

00:23:50.950 --> 00:23:59.570
Michael Gannotti
That's a easy way to start doing this. Or you can pick a color we'll just go ahead, select. I didn't want illustration along color. Here we go.

00:24:00.300 --> 00:24:23.040
Michael Gannotti
And once you've done that, you can also pick audio, which is kind of cool. You know, I always typically pick none. If you have an audio file that greets people when they come in, you can have that running. Welcome to whatever it is and put that in. Or you can put stuff like music, rain, whatever. And so once you've designed the space.

00:24:23.950 --> 00:24:32.720
Michael Gannotti
The last thing is to add content and so people were asking me what kind of content they could add besides three, six, 360.

00:24:33.210 --> 00:24:44.770
Michael Gannotti
Uh tours, so here you can see. Here's a 360 image. Here's a tour where it's a linked group of them, so you go from place to place to place in 360 degrees.

00:24:45.330 --> 00:25:12.300
Michael Gannotti
You can add a 360 video, so I actually posted one of these up where I was running, going through Haiti and I was on the back of a I was on a missions trip and I was on the back of a four wheel drive vehicle called mule and we were on the back of the mule and I have my 360 thing. We're going through villages and stuff and you can actually as it's going the videos you're driving but you can.

00:25:12.870 --> 00:25:17.010
Michael Gannotti
The nuver your view in 360's all around it.

00:25:18.100 --> 00:25:33.870
Michael Gannotti
We also have 3D 3D objects document libraries. You can add a 3D carousel view to a document library, which is always pretty cool and people can scroll through a carousel, pull up documents, open AM.

00:25:33.420 --> 00:25:33.830
Kendra Burgess
Love.

00:25:34.490 --> 00:26:06.170
Michael Gannotti
Do it, yeah, it's it's for a virtual events. It's a great way to add collateral that people can take right for any given event, we have a file viewer. We have an image viewer, people, text and video, so some pretty robust pieces here to make a very people of use these for virtual conferences. Virtual tours right now seems to be the big one as people do return to work, especially if they're going to new places or reconfigured.

00:25:36.180 --> 00:25:36.200
Kendra Burgess
Uh.

00:26:06.220 --> 00:26:16.320
Michael Gannotti
Places where people can go again with a 360 camera consumer grade under $400 and capture 5K imagery. That's pretty killer.

00:26:17.400 --> 00:26:24.510
Michael Gannotti
But you can go ahead and build it, but all you need to do again just the one last time you go to site information.

00:26:26.800 --> 00:26:31.510
Michael Gannotti
Do you all site settings and then yes, go ahead and leave.

00:26:32.090 --> 00:26:52.220
Michael Gannotti
Yes, I want to leave the page and then under site actions it's whoops manage site features. Scroll down a page is activate and that's it. Then you can start playing highly recommend. Check it out. I'll put some links about spaces, there's tutorials online and use case and errors you can use, but that's it.

00:26:54.110 --> 00:26:55.180
Michael Gannotti
That's all I got.

00:26:56.150 --> 00:27:08.380
Jim Warner
A quick question on that like so then from external users coming in, this will just adhere to the regular whatever policy you have in place. For external users this should work pretty seamlessly all through browser.

00:26:57.740 --> 00:26:58.170
Michael Gannotti
Yeah.

00:27:08.770 --> 00:27:31.450
Michael Gannotti
It's just SharePoint. It works through a browser. It also works through though the teams client and even the teams through a browser. So here I added it right. I added this home page and then you know navigating to here. But you can also go into any team, right? And because that's just the SharePoint page.

00:27:32.500 --> 00:27:35.870
Michael Gannotti
When you go into a team and let's say I'll go to.

00:27:36.580 --> 00:27:41.680
Michael Gannotti
Inventory, maybe they're going to have 3D stuff there. You just go to the add a tab.

00:27:44.070 --> 00:27:47.020
Michael Gannotti
Then select where it has SharePoint page.

00:27:48.320 --> 00:27:48.850
Michael Gannotti
Come on.

00:27:49.590 --> 00:27:50.560
Michael Gannotti
Chug a lug lug.

00:27:54.380 --> 00:28:24.800
Michael Gannotti
Here we go. So not SharePoint document library. Come here to share point where it says view pages and lists and just give the give the link to the the actual page and it will render right into so you don't even have to leave team so you can build out your teams for that. For medical there's a whole bunch of 3D models like there's pumping hearts that people can maneuver, inspect you know. And if I had one use case and I'll then I'm going to shut up with a hospital.

00:28:24.960 --> 00:28:57.020
Michael Gannotti
Who used Insta 361 X it's their latest addition. Does the 5 + K images. They use that to do virtual tours of the preop the OR and some other things. And since you could Add all that stuff, it basically was for physicians who were traveling because of early on in COVID the you know the increased demands at certain places they had to move physicians to different locations. They could become completely familiarized.

00:28:57.070 --> 00:28:58.520
Michael Gannotti
With what was available.

00:28:59.100 --> 00:29:01.520
Michael Gannotti
With that before they even got there, like.

00:29:02.100 --> 00:29:03.850
Michael Gannotti
Right down to the sink and the.

00:29:02.240 --> 00:29:02.730
Kendra Burgess
Next

00:29:03.960 --> 00:29:06.070
Jim Warner
Right, right whatever tools.

00:29:06.370 --> 00:29:06.960
Michael Gannotti
Yeah.

00:29:06.410 --> 00:29:17.440
Kendra Burgess
I'm I'm wondering, boy, is there some use case I can use with business intelligence, power BI? I'm going to noodle on that one and check that out, but it sounds really interesting.

00:29:17.680 --> 00:29:39.470
Michael Gannotti
Yeah, you certainly. If you have reports and things you want to display up, those could be possibilities. Maneuvering or or traveling to them displaying them. Just as an example, if people are wondering the same, I don't see the object type I want. If you add in a particular space, the image.

00:29:22.280 --> 00:29:22.790
Kendra Burgess
Data.

00:29:28.420 --> 00:29:28.830
Kendra Burgess
Yeah.

00:29:41.460 --> 00:29:47.000
Michael Gannotti
You can drop a picture of anything, so think of taking a snapshot of that power BI report.

00:29:47.220 --> 00:29:47.630
Kendra Burgess
Uh huh.

00:29:48.060 --> 00:29:56.840
Michael Gannotti
And they then have the option the the default is inspect, which makes it big, but you can delete that and then say link.

00:29:58.220 --> 00:30:28.810
Michael Gannotti
You can link to anything. It could be an Internet page, it could be whatever, and we use that one of my farm's used it to do a worldwide virtual conference that they used to do physically, and they did the teams sessions. They did live events for their general session for thousands of people. Then they had team meetings for the breakouts and they just put the links and they used. They took PowerPoint, took pictures, you know, made a PowerPoint slide of like a highlight saved as PNG.

00:30:29.020 --> 00:30:34.000
Michael Gannotti
Don't those all in, so you went into the main lobby and it had precede too.

00:30:34.300 --> 00:30:38.460
Michael Gannotti
Uh, this event proceeds to this and.

00:30:39.640 --> 00:30:42.120
Michael Gannotti
Just really cool stuff you can do there.

00:30:46.830 --> 00:30:49.500
Michael Gannotti
Anybody got anything else you want to talk about today?

00:30:52.080 --> 00:30:52.750
Michael Gannotti
Yes.

00:30:53.600 --> 00:31:00.670
Kendra Burgess
OK so I I. I know we haven't planned on this necessarily. I had just noticed that there isn't.

00:31:00.750 --> 00:31:01.510
Kendra Burgess
Announcement

00:31:02.380 --> 00:31:29.570
Kendra Burgess
it's on the Power BI blog site number one. The July feature summary you just came out, so if anyone hasn't seen that, there's a lot of information there about what's new, what's being released, what's gaadi, what's previewed, it does come out every month. Bhuttan we do. We do anxiously wait for it to come out every month, so I notice that there the other that's really highly anticipated. I know I've talked about it before is the power BI.

00:31:29.620 --> 00:32:00.440
Kendra Burgess
Like, uh, premium Gen two. It was initially supposed to be GA down here in July, but they really wanted to improve this capacity metric app. I mean, it looks like the capacity app is going to be released on August 12th and premium Gen two will be released in GA September 27th, and the reason I mention it or three things we're really anticipating the new hardware, an improved performance.

00:32:00.970 --> 00:32:26.580
Kendra Burgess
The second being autoscaling allowing a customer to add 01 or many nodes for backup when you have high CPU, something you can just you know, leverage and use when you need that on the fly and then the third is no more management of the premium instances. Microsoft is going to do that so that our customers don't have to. You don't have to worry about jobs that are being aborted or.

00:32:26.630 --> 00:32:32.470
Kendra Burgess
Uhm, CPU and memory and things that are happening in the environment we're going to do all that for you.

00:32:33.000 --> 00:32:46.660
Kendra Burgess
I think customers felt it was just a little too complicated for business analysts own operations of business intelligence, so you won't have to do that moving forward. And that's what we're all anticipating.

00:32:47.680 --> 00:32:49.230
Kendra Burgess
So that's it for me, yeah?

00:32:47.780 --> 00:32:48.480
Michael Gannotti
That's awesome.

00:32:49.040 --> 00:32:52.430
Michael Gannotti
Yeah, that that's definitely a big you don't want.

00:32:52.720 --> 00:32:53.470
Kendra Burgess
I agree.

00:32:52.980 --> 00:32:55.650
Michael Gannotti
People having to manage that right, yeah?

00:32:54.500 --> 00:32:55.620
Kendra Burgess
No no.

00:32:56.620 --> 00:33:03.140
Michael Gannotti
Cool, now I'm glad you jumped in. That was great. Just send me the links will make sure we include him.

00:32:57.360 --> 00:32:57.720
Kendra Burgess
Yeah.

00:32:59.200 --> 00:32:59.550
Kendra Burgess
Thanks.

00:33:03.510 --> 00:33:03.740
Kendra Burgess
OK.

00:33:05.250 --> 00:33:10.150
Michael Gannotti
Well, I guess that's it for today. I know I'm hungry. I don't know about the rest of you. I'm ready.

00:33:11.110 --> 00:33:12.860
Michael Gannotti
It's lunchtime here for Mike.

00:33:13.500 --> 00:33:14.330
Michael Gannotti
So.

00:33:15.580 --> 00:33:18.700
Michael Gannotti
For mid day Cafe this is Mike and.

00:33:20.890 --> 00:33:21.560
Scott Moore
Scott

00:33:22.300 --> 00:33:23.000
Tracy DeWald
Tracy

00:33:23.720 --> 00:33:24.270
Kendra Burgess
Kendra.

00:33:24.910 --> 00:33:25.500
Jim Warner
Jim.

00:33:26.760 --> 00:33:29.830
Michael Gannotti
Yes, and we all bid you. We bid you have a great week.

00:33:30.910 --> 00:33:46.370
Michael Gannotti
Just as an FY I this next Monday we will have a new host for Monday. Stepping in is going to be Kendra, so Kendra is going to be doing a meeting planning on Friday and then actually yes.

00:33:47.550 --> 00:33:53.160
Michael Gannotti
So she's doing the clapping and then she's going to host on Monday. I will be.

00:33:54.530 --> 00:33:57.420
Michael Gannotti
Sadly, I'll be in the ocean in Florida.

00:33:57.920 --> 00:33:58.960
Kendra Burgess
Oh please.

00:33:57.940 --> 00:33:58.540
Jim Warner
oh

00:34:00.770 --> 00:34:12.780
Michael Gannotti
So yeah, it'll be a great session. I'm looking forward to that, and I'm looking forward to watching it as a somebody tuning in later. So with that take care buddy. Have a great week and.

00:34:13.580 --> 00:34:16.290
Michael Gannotti
With that, we're going to end mid day cafe.

00:34:17.470 --> 00:34:18.040
