Hi All - been looking at introducing calling ability via MS Teams however unsure of the advantages of Direct Routing as apposed to simply buying the Phone System Add-on's or rather O365 Business Voice?

 

Having Telephony purely cloud based surely results in removal of any on-premise telephony solution - so why bother with Direct Routing but it seems to be the rage at the moment from what I've read etc...

 

Would welcome any thoughts on this - I can understand that there're many factors to consider like calling plans and investment in kit on-premise - in which case is DR simply a bridge to Cloud PBX?
