Here - Microsoft Tech Community

After the policy takes effect, some users might experience a greyed out "Start Recording" button in 1:1 Calls. This new diagnostic is pretty simple and will check the user's Teams Calling Policy for the AllowCloudRecordingForCalls parameter - if that's $false (and it will be by default), the user will not be allowed to record 1:1 Calls.

Here's what it looks like in the Admin Portal (reminder, in your Admin Portal click on "need help" or under Support - New service request" - type in the shortcut Diag: Teams 1:1 Call Recording

In this case, the user's policy setting AllowCloudRecordingForCalls is set to $false, and they're not allowed to record 1:1 calls. The Diagnostic returns detailed instructions on how to change that policy setting. We also cover that in depth on the previous blog post mentioned above.

In the case AllowCloudRecordingForCalls is set to $true - we'll display the following:

It's possible due to policy change replication time a user might still have the "Start Recording" button greyed out after a policy change to allow it - so be sure to wait a couple hours and try again if you've recently made a change.

While this one is pretty simple, we hope it helps you determine if a user's 1:1 Call Recording policy is what is preventing them from recording calls. On the other hand, if you want to prevent users from recording 1:1 Calls, this diag can help you confirm you have it set correctly.

As always we hope this helps, and welcome your feedback in the comments below.

Thanks!
Microsoft Teams Support
Fri, 28 May 2021 19:14:50 GMT https://gorovian.000webhostapp.com/?exam=t5/microsoft-teams-support/new-diagnostic-1-1-call-recording-in-teams/ba-p/2396766 Corbin Meek 2021-05-28T19:14:50Z New Diagnostic: Missing Teams Meeting Recording https://gorovian.000webhostapp.com/?exam=t5/microsoft-teams-support/new-diagnostic-missing-teams-meeting-recording/ba-p/2302005
Hi Teams Community,

Our team has just released a new diagnostic, Teams Meeting Missing Recording. Thanks to <LI-USER uid="121435"></LI-USER> for coding this one up!

With the ongoing shift of Teams Meeting Recording storage from Stream to OneDrive SharePoint, sometimes a Meeting Recording file can become misplaced. We discuss some known issues and troubleshooting options in the following Article: Issues with Meeting Recordings

This new Diagnostic can find missing Meeting Recordings in the event they are lost or misplaced. To access the Diagnostic in your M365 Admin Portal, type Diag: Missing Recording into the Need Help or New Service Request description box:

Notice that the Diagnostic requires a Meeting Join URL, one way to get that is from the Meeting details page in the Teams client. Find the Meeting Chat, then click on the three lines top right:

And then you can copy the link:

From there, you simply need the Date the meeting occurred. Note that we only keep Meeting Recording telemetry for 30 days, so if the meeting recording is older than 30 days, you'll need to try one of the manual methods in the troubleshooting article linked above.

Enter your meeting join URL and date in YYYY-MM-DD format:

And then click on Run Tests. In my case, here is the result:

And this indicates that my Meeting Recording was saved to OneDrive, and provides a link to our troubleshooting article with instructions on how to go find it in OneDrive. The Diagnostic can detect if the user's storage is still Stream as well, and those instructions (how to find the recording file in Stream) are there too. For this example, here's where I found my missing recording:

We hope this Diagnostic is helpful in situations where the Meeting Recording file can't be found after a meeting. Please give it a try and let us know how it went in the comments below.

As a reminder, all of our Microsoft Teams Diagnostics are listed in the following article: Self-help diagnostics for Microsoft Teams administrators

Thanks!
Microsoft Teams Support
Wed, 28 Apr 2021 13:07:22 GMT https://gorovian.000webhostapp.com/?exam=t5/microsoft-teams-support/new-diagnostic-missing-teams-meeting-recording/ba-p/2302005 Corbin Meek 2021-04-28T13:07:22Z 1:1 Call Recording Policy Controls Are (Almost!) To quote: "This quarter, Microsoft 365 users around the world generated more than 30 billion collaboration minutes in a single day as people communicated, collaborated, and co-authored content across work, life, and learning." Read more from that announcement here.

That is an astounding number of daily collaboration minutes. While not all of them are spent in meetings, many are, and we know that our Teams Community loves to record meetings! So today I'm pleased to announce we just shipped our most recent Teams Diagnostic for Meeting Recordings.

From working with you all in Support we know that top support case drivers include Meeting Recording availability and end user capability (i.e. the Meeting Recording button is grayed out!). These issues typically fall into two categories, either the impacted user isn't allowed to record meetings via Policy settings or, in some areas of the world, Stream is not available in your region. Luckily our Diagnostic can identify both of these issues and tell you how to fix them.

But wait! There's more! In case you missed it, we recently began rolling out a change to Teams Meeting Recording Storage. If you're signed into your M365 Tenant Admin portal you can read all about it in the following Message Center Post: (Updated) Microsoft Teams: meeting recordings saved to OneDrive and Sharepoint.

You should also carefully review the following documentation that goes over these changes in detail:

Use OneDrive for Business and SharePoint or Stream for meeting recordings

And of course, our Diagnostic can help you identify if you're using Stream or have switched to OneDrive SharePoint storage. In fact, if you are in a part of the world where Stream is not available, we are very pleased to inform you that you can Opt-in to OneDrive SharePoint storage to enable Teams Meeting Recording functionality!

As always we've provided you with a shortcut to get directly to the diagnostic. This video series is intended to help M365 IT Pros and Admins solve common configuration and troubleshooting tasks in Microsoft Teams.

While our production is low-fi - think garage band with a 4-track, not Abbey Road Studios - we hope the content is useful and valuable to you all. Why Kitchen Table Admin? Well, like most of you out there, we at Microsoft find ourselves working from home, or anywhere we can safely access a reliable Internet connection. In my own case, that means working from my kitchen a lot. I'm sure you can relate.

In this first ever video in what we hope to be a long series, I'm going to show you how to use Self Help Diagnostics that my team makes available to you in your Admin Portal to troubleshoot a basic setup of Microsoft Teams Guest Access. I cover the top 3 things we see in support from IT Admins when setting up this very popular feature.

Please check out our short video and let us know what you think in the comments. The demo portion starts at 0:57 if you want to skip the intro. What would you like to see covered in a future video? <LI-VIDEO vid="https://youtu.be/lIicc3k0Et0" align="center" size="medium" width="400" height="225" uploading="false" thumbnail="https://i.ytimg.com/vi/lIicc3k0Et0/hqdefault.jpg" external="url"></LI-VIDEO>
Wed, 07 Oct 2020 13:12:51 GMT https://gorovian.000webhostapp.com/?exam=t5/microsoft-teams-support/kitchen-table-admin-a-new-video-series-for-teams-and-m365-it/ba-p/1753815 Corbin Meek 2020-10-07T13:12:51Z Self-help diagnostics available for Microsoft Teams Administrators https://gorovian.000webhostapp.com/?exam=t5/microsoft-teams-support/self-help-diagnostics-available-for-microsoft-teams/ba-p/1303554
Oct 14, 2020 Update: This content has been promoted to Docs.microsoft.com - from here on we will maintain the Self Help Diagnostics list over there, so be sure to check out the new doc! Teams-specific diagnostic scenarios that cover top support issues and most common areas where Administrators like you ask us for configuration help. It is important to note that while these diagnostics cannot make changes to your Tenant, they do provide insights into known issues and instructions for you to go fix it quickly.

With that in mind, let’s take a look at the experience. While logged in as an Admin, visit your Microsoft 365 admin center. In the left-hand navigation pane, select Show all > Support > New service request. After you briefly describe your issue (let’s use the example “I can't invite a guest to Teams”), we’ll use that information to determine if a diagnostic scenario matches your issue. Pro-tip – if you type some search terms and see a type-ahead query pop up that matches the general area you’re looking for, please click it! We’ll talk more about why in a future post.

After entering your organization’s root URL (in the Guest Access diagnostic you should be able to click the drop down arrow and select a pre-populated URL from your Tenant), click Run tests.

Once the diagnostic checks have completed for the scenario, if we find a problem, we’ll show you what we found, and provide steps to resolve the configuration issue. In this example, the Tenant Admin had not turned on Guest Access:

Guest Access is turned off!

Here a list of diagnostics with brief scenario descriptions we already have today:

Teams Sign-in - Have a user or users that can't sign-in to Teams app?
